We invite native and non-native people alike to partner with us to see God’s work of restoration come to the Owens Valley Paiute and Shoshone. Though there are many “ways” that can help, we believe the bottom line is uncomplicated: simple, but real, relationship.
If you live in the Owens Valley, we encourage you to develop kind and loving “no strings attached” friendships with native people you encounter. Spend time talking with them; have lunch or dinner with them; get to know their hearts and their struggles; serve them, or with them, where you are welcomed.
If you live outside or inside the Owens Valley, you can help YWAM Bishop in the following ways:
Send a Team – If you have a group of people who wish to serve the Native Peoples of the Owens Valley, Contact us and we can discuss short term or long term ways to connect you in.
Come on Staff – If God is moving you to become a friend of the Paiute and Shoshone, and you think he might be calling you to walk fulltime with YWAM Bishop as we live out God’s work of restoration in the Owens Valley, consider Contacting us about a possible staff position with YWAM Bishop. Pray – Pray with us for the Owens Valley Paiute and Shoshone, and pray for YWAM Bishop as we attempt to rightly live out God’s love with them. You can keep updated on how to pray by following us on Facebook, or by checking back on our homepage for updates on our blog, video casts, and events. Thank you for your crucial prayers.
Giving – As a nonprofit corporation, YWAM Bishop’s staff and efforts depend of God’s provision which largely comes through the donations of partners, to whom we are grateful.
We also encourage people everywhere to discover the history of the Native Peoples of their home area, and to seek them out and form a friendship with them. We recommend doing so in humility, and with a teachable heart.
